NEW DELHIholdempoker, June 29 (Xinhua) -- A middle-aged man and two boys aged between 9 and 10 years died after they drowned in stagnant rainwater in different parts of Delhi on Saturday, confirmed a Delhi Police copholdempoker.

Rains hit the Indian capital city on Friday morning, and the rainwater had been stagnant for over 24 hours due to a poor drainage system in the Indian capital.

Due to severe water-logging on Friday post rains at several places in the Indian capital, many vehicles were seen submerged in water on roads, in underpasses and under bridges.

In a weather forecast the India Meteorological Department on Saturday said that Delhi and its surrounding areas would witness heavy rains over the next two to three days.■
